Hook

• I recreated the most underrated thing from my teenage years, the bouncing DVD screensaver.
• If you grew up pausing a DVD just to watch the logo bounce round the screen, you'll remember this.
• Nobody who grew up in the 2000s forgot this. The DVD logo, bouncing round the telly, so close to the corner.

Body

Everyone remembers this one.

You pause the DVD, wander off to make a drink, and the little logo starts bouncing round the screen, changing colour every time it hits a wall.

And there was always that one thing you were quietly hoping for. The perfect corner hit. Straight into the corner, no cheating.

So I rebuilt it. With our logo, on our playground.

You can change the colours and the background, speed it up.

You can decide how it wakes up. Does it just start on its own, or do you have to tap to bring it to life?

And how it fades. Drifting in slow and dreamy, or snapping straight to black.

The idea is to have it kick in when nobody's touched the page for a while. You stop scrolling, you stop clicking, and after a moment the logo starts its little dance.

A screensaver, but for a website. A tiny bit of nothing that makes you smile.

This is exactly the sort of thing I build when no one's asked me to. Just to see if I can.
